This program introduces you to the basic concepts and skills used by freedivers. You will have the opportunity to experience free diving in a protected environment, always under the supervision of an experienced professional, and gain a life experience that can change your approach to sea and water in general.
At the end of this training seminar, you will be able to hold your breath for at least 60 sec, do a dynamic apnea of 15 meters, and freedive to depths of up to 5 meters.
Content
The short theoretical part of this program provides valuable information that prepares participants for the upcoming free diving.
The subjects taught include:
- Basic breathing techniques
- Freediving equipment
- Basic freediving techniques
- Basic physiology (equation of pressure in the middle ear - loss of consciousness - hypoxia)
- Basic physics of freediving
- Basic characteristics of the Marine Environment
- Possible risks and safety precautions
- History of Free Diving
Subsequently, in the practical part of the seminar, the participants perform exercises and gain their first experiences in the following subjects:
- Breathing
- Static apnea (STA)
- Buoyancy
- Finning technique
- Dynamic apnea (DYN)
- Middle ear pressure equalization techniques
- Duck Dive techniques
- Skills exercises
- Diving buddy practice in freediving (Buddy system)
Participation requirements
Documents and conditions of participation:
- Τhe participant must be over 12 years old
- Identity Card or Passport
- Medical certificate issued within the last 12 months
- Disclaimer form (to be completed at the beginning of the procedure)
- Parental consent document in case the interested party is under 18 years old
